In the case of Dunlop v Selfridge 1915, the House of Lords explained consideration as, the claimant showing
that they’ve bought the defendant’s promise by doing, giving or promising something in return for it.
In most contract cases, two promises are exchanged between two parties, making both parties the promiser
and the promisee. For example if Emily promises to paint Carla’s kitchen, and Carla promises to pay her for
the work she has done.
