Healthcare cutting costs and bullying are two big issues nurses face that contribute to the nursing shortage. PICO(T) questions: How does short staffing effect nurses compared to nurses who work with safe patient ratios in the healthcare filed and how does being bullied at work compare to individuals who are not bullied? Each nurse is accountable for their actions and they are required to respect and obey a code of ethics. According to the American Nurses Association (2017) nurses are devoted to both wellbeing of the sick, the injured and those who are vulnerable in society as well as social justice (ANA, 2017). It is important to understand that nurses are advocates for their patients and it is their responsibility to protect, build up and fix the health in the patient, vulnerable population and the overall society.
