1. Proper aseptic technique is crucial to ensuring growth of pure bacterial colonies. What is one
experimental way you can test your practices to confirm that you are using proper aseptic
technique?
By burning the loop or using agar slants, aseptic procedures can be evaluated for applicability.
The loop is flamed until it gets red-hot, then cooled before taking up the organisms to be
transferred from the bacterial culture. So that no bacterial aerosol is formed, the hot loop is left
in the tube for a few seconds before extracting the inoculum.
2. In a laboratory setting, what are three ways you can properly sterilize culturing equipment?
a. When sterilizing culture material in an autoclave, the wet heat approach is
