Increased need for occupational therapists. Vocational Act Amendment 1954 Public law 565 represented a major expansion of government in voc. rehab. Funding went from 50/50 to $3 for every $2 state dollars. Expanded funding to 65 million. Vocational Act Amendment 1965 Expanded funding ratio to 75/25 and extended evaluation process to 6 & 18 months. Made it possible to serve those with a "behavior disorder". Rehab Act of 1973 Redirected voc. rehab. to those with severe disabilities. "Behavior disorder" category was dropped.
