Capital punishment is whereby a criminal found guilty is punished by death. The countries that practice it argue it as a way of maintaining peace. Some countries have abolished it while others have not based on different reasons. Being the obligation of every government to provide adequate security to its people, the security of every individual should be assured. Therefore, any person who poses a threat to the security of others should be dealt with. Abolitionists argue that, it is an inhuman punishment directed to the poor, minority and uneducated in society. The conflict of opinion continues to be a debate on whether to adopt capital punishment or abolish it.
