Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my concerns of underage employment in third world countries and how
this mimeses the concerns of the issue.
This is a very huge ethical concern to the regional communities, because this is an unfair trading
practice and it is extremely out of order, what I mean by out of order is using child labour to
work for factories. Children aged 15 or under are not allowed to work, because it is morally
wrong and is against the law. They are being forced to work for longer hours with very small
wages, which is horrible and dreadful, they are earning money that is equal to zero, for longer
hours, and this is very disgraceful. This is a very huge ethical concern and I would like Primark
to take a much broader consideration to this by banning child labour I the third world countries
and replace child labour to free education and welfare system and helpful benefits to children in
developing countries such as Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh, because I want the young
children to be educated and work more harder to entitle a decent and reputable qualification, that
would lead a pathway to a successful career plan.
However, if you still considering people to work for your company, I recommend you to recruit
people in Europe because from my research I have found out that the unemployment figures are
rising because of the economic recession and many people are redundant, jobless and staying at
home. If you create many jobs for people to work in Primark, they would get a lifetime
opportunity of being an excellent staff in the business by getting paid for the minimum wage of
£6.50 and many benefits that will help them stay longer in the business such as pension schemes,
staff discount and many more.
