For this practical you will need:
● 50 cm³ of the solution;
● Plastic petri dish with two holes;
● Two carbon rods (electrodes);
● Beaker;
● Crocodile leads;
● Low-voltage power supply;
M e t h o d
1. Insert your two electrodes into the holes of the plastic
petri dish and place that over a beaker with 50 cm³ of
solution. (Make sure that your electrodes are not too
close to each other and that they are touching the
solution).
2. Attach crocodile leads on each electrode and connect
them to a low-voltage power supply.
3. Set your voltage to 4V and observe any changes at the
electrodes. (The electrode at your right is the cathode
and the electrode at your left is the anode).
