I. British History in 50 Events: From the First Settlers to Modern Empire
or The History of Britain in 50 Events.
We can do the quizz on the book when we want, but the last deadline is on April
3rd.
II. How Britain Really Works – Stig Abell (a journalist who used to work
on The Sun)
There a lot of notes but the main information is in the book.
Read the chapters corresponding to what we are seeing on class.

Examination
Wooflash (CPUK) => Multiple choice questions, short answer questions,
sometimes fill-in the blank + essay questions (open questions) = Examination
questions
The exam counts for 50%, but you still need to score at least 35/100.
The dates are given in the exam, so there is no need to memorize them.
At the exam: explain the difference between two notions.

Unification of the UK
England was the basis of the UK.
Henry the 2nd (1133-1189) invaded (?) under the guise of Christianisation.
From the very beginning of the joint history, religion has been a bone of
contention.
The United Kingdom became fully united in 1800/1801 with the Final Act of
Union uniting Great Britain (England and Scotland) and Ireland under the
name of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

In terms of international recognition, there are two states:
The Republic of Ireland + The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland

The home nations
British is different from English
Inhabitants of Scotland => The Scots or Jock in informal situations.
