introduction:
In this report I will be evaluating, explaining and comparing how dietary-related
disorders affect normal functioning of the digestive system. I will also explain how
these disorders lead to loss of good health as well as nutritional deficiencies. I will
evaluate how medical treatments and interventions are used and impact the named
diseases, as well as evaluating the effect of dietary diseases on the human body and
how to help control or correct them through treatment. I will also be looking at the
symptoms of the nutritional deficiencies due to dietary related diseases and explain
corrective treatments. As well as analysing the role of digestive enzymes and the
nutrients uptaken and the roles and locations of each organ. What is it? It's made up
of the gastrointestinal tract, your liver, pancreas and the gallbladder. They are
connected and turn food into nutrients and energy you need to live.

, Roles of organs:
Mouth - The mouth is where the digestive system starts, in fact the digestive system
starts when your salivary glands see and smell pasta and warm bread. Chewing food
into smaller pieces makes it easier to digest. When your saliva mixes it breaks down
to a form the body can absorb and use as energy. This is also known as mechanical
digestion.

Pharynx - also known as the throat, a part of the respiratory system and digestive
system. It carries air, food and fluid from the nose and mouth down. It is also the site
of most illnesses such as sore throats and tonsillitis. Its main roles are to carry air to
the respiratory, deliver food and liquid to the digestive system and push food into the
oesophagus to ensure it isn't breathed in. as well as equalises pressure in ears and
drains fluid from the ears. This is seen as both chemical and mechanical digestion.

Oesophagus - Located near the trachea in the throat the oesophagus receives food
from the mouth as you swallow. The epiglottis is a small flap that opens and closes
as you swallow over the windpipe to prevent you from choking. Loads of muscles
contract to move food down the oesophagus. A ring-like muscle in the bottom of the
oesophagus needs to relax to let food in. There is a part in the bottom that contracts
and prevents the backflow of the content of food. If the contents do flow back you
could experience reflux. No digestion takes place in the oesophagus so it is neither
mechanical nor chemical digestion.
