The pathophysiologic connection between Asthma and Allergies Asthma is a chronic inflammatory medical condition, which creates a linkage between the epithelial cells with the innate and the adaptive immune system. The latter helps to cause the overproduction of mucus, bronchoconstriction, and airway hyperresponsiveness[ CITATION Iwa17 l 1033 ]. Asthma is also considered as an allergic condition from a general overview. That instance has led to asthma being handled, addressed, and managed by matching it with allergies. On the other hand, an allergic reaction happens when the body, through antibodies, react to fight the invading circumstances or chemicals. The body ensures that actions such as nasal congestion and running nose take place as protection from unknown substances. In most instances, allergies and asthma occur together. Such an instance is contributed by the two medical conditions having similar substances triggering the symptoms. The implications, in this case, include pet dander, dust mites, and pollen[ CITATION Gat16 l 1033 ]. However, in other cases, patients with food or skin allergies are also likely to cause asthma symptoms, which is clinically referred to as allergy-induced asthma or allergic asthma. An allergic response occurs when the immune system antibodies are mistakenly identified as harmless substances, for instance, as pollen. Therefore, the antibodies bind to the allergen in an effort to protect the body from the threat
