The functions of formats and location in retailing
Many different aspects of a business affect the way it conducts its activities. Business size,
location, ownership or format of its stores can determine how an organisation should distribute its
products, what kind of employees it should search for in order to maintain itself successful or what
type of places its store will be the most profitable at. Being able realistically reflect on the function
and formats of retailers can give you an insight into the purpose/background of strategic decisions
made by a retailing organisation.
