College is responsible for
every student’s and
employee’s safety while
they’re at college or on a
trip.
Every college has a health
and safety policy. It is your
legal responsibility, as a
member of stuff to comply
with that policy and provide
a safe learning environment
for your students.
, CONSTITUTION TO A HEALTHY AND
SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
In order to carry out an effective investigation and prevent
accidents, we have to know why the various deviations in work
procedure occurred. The three main contributory factors are:
1) Technical equipment. Example: lack of equipment or faulty
design leading to a sequence of unexpected events which finally
result in an accident.
2) Age. Older people are more easily injured e.g. when
falling. And on the other hand – youngsters are immature and are
more likely to cause incidents.
3) The working conditions. They can influence us indirectly. E.g.
noise, temperature, ventilation, lighting.
