Think about how you as a case manager would handle the issue of confidentiality between Ms. Roe and Rose. Choose at least two of the five decision types on p. 115 and explore them in terms of making a disclosure. Which factors described on p. 115 would you deem important in making your decision? As a case manager, I would be required to share the information with the client’s parents because of the threat that Rose imposes on herself with repeated cutting and suicidal tendencies. At this point, it would be necessary to hold Rose in the hospital and have a psych evaluation be made to determine further services needed to help Rose with cutting and suicidal thoughts.
