• Sensory (Afferent) neurons: Transmit impulses from sensory receptors towards
the CNS.
Usually unipolar, although some are bipolar neurons
• Motor (Efferent) neurons: Multipolar neurons that carry impulses away from
CNS to the effector organs (as muscles and glands)
