HOOFDSTUK 1

Pathofysiologie van infectieziekten.

DEFINITIES
- Infectieziekte = klinisch waarneembare toestand van schade of verandering in normale
fysiologie van gastheer
o Gaat gepaard met ontstekingsreactie (inflammatie)
o Veroorzaakt door besmetting met ziekmakend micro-organisme
- Besmetting gaat infectie vooraf → maar leidt niet per se tot infectie
o Soms enkel kolonisatie of dragerschap


PATHOFYSIOLOGIE
- Infectie ontstaat wanneer pathogeen vermogen van micro-organisme de overhand heeft
op afweersysteem van gastheer
- Interactie tussen micro-organisme & gastheer: weergeven in piramide van infectieziekten
