Crimes Against Persons and Property
Included in this lecture is a wealth of information about various violent and property crimes. We learned about issues surrounding criminal homicide, such as when life begins and the right to die. Then we analyzed the different types of criminal homicide, including murder, manslaughter, and criminally negligent homicide. We also learned about other violent crimes including assault and battery, robbery, sex offenses, and kidnapping and false imprisonment. We then moved on to property crimes, including arson, burglary and theft. The last crimes we discussed were incomplete or inchoate crimes. These included attempt, conspiracy, and solicitation. You should be able to meet course outcome four: Define the elements and defenses required for the classification of criminal acts. Next we will work on outcomes three, six, and seven. The lecture and assignments will focus on the Constitutional amendments and rules that govern criminal practice and procedure.
