PSY-104 WEEK 3 DISCUSSIO QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS,100% CORRECTN
PSY-104 WEEK 3 DISCUSSION Piaget’s believes that his approach to cognitive development which focuses on life lessons and what is taken from those mistakes. He sees in his own children that they learn more this way than they do from others. This cognitive development is how the children are able to comprehend the lessons and discern what’s important. Vygotsky identifies an alternate idea to that of Piaget’s individual lessons being more important. Instead the theory is based on the social interactions within their world. Vygotsky is pointing at the interpersonal and Piaget at the Intrapersonal communications and interactions as being most important to cognitive development. I believe more in Piaget’s theory of intrapersonal exploration and learning being more critical to early cognitive development. Throughout life there is little learning when there is no concept of self and identity, relating to self-esteem, self-worth and selfidentification. Piaget’s theory in my opinion makes more sense in that many early cognitive lessons come from making a mistake and learning from the reaction in your surrounding environment.
