Task one
A) The western culture has implemented the African cultures in many ways such
as the dressing sense as well as the value system off the African culture. The
marriage that has taken place in this picture is known as an interracial marriage and
currently it is more common than one would think. Times have changed, in the sense
that in the past it would be difficult to get married to someone from another culture
and it was not accepted.
In my opinion there are pros and cons to an interracial marriage, but many
individuals are not able to make it work and in the modern world that we live in today,
it has become normalised. I honestly believe that everyone should have the right to
marry whomever they love and are comfortable with, regardless of the culture,
ethnicity, and race. I think that this gives them the opportunity to learn about their
partner's culture as well as interacting with their family that comes from diverse
backgrounds. If they love and make each other happy, that is the most important
aspect. By marrying someone off a different culture, you will be able to learn new
traditions, learn new languages, taste different foods, appreciate the differences and
you get to share your culture with your significant other. Even though you come from
diverse backgrounds you and your partner will be able to overcome all challenges if
they are handled together.
B) In my opinion, I believe that an individual can belong to more than one culture
without neglecting their original identity. Culture is a way of life that can be adopted
by many people.
In some instances, people circumstances may introduce them to new cultures. For
instance, some individuals migrate and encounter many new people that have
diverse cultural heritages, customs, and languages and throughout the course of
your life you can adapt to a new culture. I have also belonged to more than one
culture, and I do not think that I have neglected my original identity. By acquiring a
new culture, it has taught me to converse with new people and to expand my
knowledge as well as develop new skills and learn new languages.
I have been able to balance it well and I was taught to understand diverse cultures.
By interacting and adopting new cultures, it helps you connect with others deeply.
