Select a company and identify its mission statement. Using this week’s course readings, explain whether the company has a good mission statement. Discuss whether the company has a successful vision statement. If so, is the vision statement a good vision according to the course materials? Why or why not. Hobby Lobby. The mission statement for Hobby Lobby “offering our customers exceptional selection and value. Serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals, and nurture families.” (John, 2019) In a mission statement it must describes the organization’s vision (Learning, n.d.). Once I read the mission statement, I think that it describes what Hobby Lobby is exactly. Hobby Lobby’s vision statement that the company has been led by the desire “to influence and market creative arts while incorporating Christian values.” (John, 2019) The vision statement is what the organization is hoping to achieve or to become (Learning, n.d.). I don’t believe that Hobby Lobby’s vision is good because it’s just saying that everything they do is with Christian values.
