I will compile a check list for an event and designing an invitation. 3. PORTFOLIO ACTIVITY 1 Research proposal Overview of the organisation. Wembezi SAPS is a small rural police station in the Midlands of KZN. The mission of the South African Police Service (Wembezi SAPS), now known as the Department of Police, is to prevent and combat anything that may threaten the safety and security of any community, investigate any crimes that threaten the safety and security of any community, ensure offenders are brought to justice, and participate in efforts to address the root causes of crime in the community. The SAPS’s strategic goals are to provide a police services that will be community orientated in order to ensure safer communities by reducing the number crime in the community. Define the research problem. Concerns have been raised about the work morale among employees of Wembezi SAPS. According to the evidence collected the attitudes of employees are very negative due to the dissatisfaction with the workplace. The members are complaining about the low salaries within the department, the lack of promotions and opportunities to grow within the department. The working conditions in which they work are appalling the police station had to be declared unsafe by the department of labour and was close now members work from an office which was turned into a 4 | P a g e STUDENT NUMBER: Community Service Centre. The office is small, there is no social distancing due to the size of the office. Older members have taken the decision to terminate employment by taking early retirement because they have lost the desire to work. There isn’t anything motivating employees to companies doing the job that they love so much. This station has a very high rates of absenteeism because members are frustrated and taking their frustrations out of the community that they are supposed to be serving. Members are turning to a life of crime due to their dissatisfaction. Wembezi SAPS is very under staffed and members are overwhelmed with the amount of work they have to do on a daily basis. Determine the research objectives Wembezi SAPS objectives are to Build the moral of the members by having team building programs Renegotiate the salary increase of the public sector. The working conditions of members needs to be fixed because members need a safe and secure environment Giving members what is due to them because we have members who have been in the same rank for more then 12years without being promoted. Providing members with all the equipment needed to perform their daily duties. Incentives in the sense overtime and time due. Recognition of good work in the form of a certificate Increase of manpower. Determine the research method. This study followed the quantitative approach in the form of a questionnaire that was issued to members and the community when since the work morale of a large number of employees at Wembezi SAPS was asked for. In quantitative research the research aimed to arrive at an understanding of facts from outsider’s perspective by maintaining a detached, objective view, which in this study was the measurement of employee morale and attitude towards work and the working environment of Wembezi SAPS. 5 | P a g e STUDENT NUMBER: Determine who your population is. The population in this case are all the employees of Wembezi SAPS at all levels are needed to gather the information needed for the research of this study. Determine who your units of analysis are. Wembezi SAPS has a total strength of 85 employees. 1 Station Commander, 3 Component Heads, 4 Relief Commanders, 10 Administrative staff, 7 Detectives and 53 Functional members at different salary levels from level 3 to level 10. Sample the units of analysis. The sampling method that was used in this study is both the stratified and the simple random sampling. This was done to ensure that as much as biasness as possible is removed or minimized in order to get a fair representation of the truth is obtained and the population of the study was divided into groups according to their levels, ranks and functions in the organisation. Collection of data. Quantitative data are collected to classify and describe attributes, behaviours and activities of populations according to Parahoo (2006). This data was collected using a questionnaire. Data Analysis Quantitative data analysis is all about analysing number-based data using various statistical techniques. The two main branches of statistics are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive describe your sample, whereas inferential make predictions about what you’ll find in the population.

Overview of the organisation.

Wembezi SAPS is a small rural police station in the Midlands of KZN. The mission of
the South African Police Service (Wembezi SAPS), now known as the Department of
