, As a member of the government health and safety inspectors I will be researching
about the school and the GSK health and safety practices. I will also research about
how the product is mass manufactured and also how research and development is
organised. Finally I will research about the health and safety legislation as well as
describing the hazard present in the two department I have chosen.
Kingsley Academy is a secondary school and a sixth form in Hounslow East. The
school consists of about 1000 students with the age group between 11- 18 mixed boys
and girls. The school has 2 entrances which the students can access one of the
entrance is on Prince Regents Lane and the other one of Cecil Road. The school has
over 60 teachers.
GSK is a multinational, pharmaceutical company, its headquarters are located in
Brentford. It is situated in all around the world. It was found in the year 2000 in
December. At GSK there are about 99000 number of employees. The nature of
science is to improve quality of the human life they do this by helping patients and
provide best quality medication.
There are 12 science teachers that work in the science department, the school also
has two science technicians. Kingsley academy holds a science department , which I
will researching about, on the 4th floor which is the final and the top floor. There are
about 5 science classes. The nature of science is to support the students with
KS3,KS4 and KS5 curriculum.
I will now review the hazards in each organisation and the safety measures in place
along with the legislation that has been followed. Firstly I will examine the hazards
and risk management at Kingsley Academy and the table below includes hazards in
the science department.
