1.2 Werkhonden: terminologie

3 categorieën:

 Honden met een bepaalde beroepsopleiding (rescue dogs, drugshonden, politiehonden,…)
 Assistentiehonden (handicap of ziekte)

Blindengeleidehonden Visuele beperking

Hulphonden Motorische beperking = autonomie + zelfredzaamheid van
baasjes bevorderen.

Hoorhonden Auditieve beperking = waarschuwen bij gevaar

Meldhonden Epilepsie of diabetes
1. Seizure respons dog = 1 of ++ zaken doen
2. Seizure alert dog = voelt het aankomen

Diabeteshond Diabetes of suikerziekte = melden
Andere Autisme, psyhische aandoening of PTSS, slachtoffers,
tijdens een proces.

 Animal Assisted Interventions honden (AAI-honden)
 AAT = honden die helpen bij therapeutische interventies
 AAE = educatief
 AAA = minder doelgericht, meer algemene aard. (waakhonden)

 Assistentiehonden = toegelaten op openbare plaatsen.
