You are required to review your project from design through to the completion and presentation of the
models. The following sample headings have been provided to help you structure your report, but it should
not be viewed as a rigid structure.
The Brief and Interpretation of the Brief
In the brief we were asked to create a game concept or an office workspace for the company Synergist.
This was done to demonstrate the capabilities that Synergist have within the gaming industry as they
wanted to try and expand in that area as well as other industries. The design that will be made is going to
be produced and shown to possible investors to show what Synergist can do when building a game
concept when using 3Ds Max.
I chose to do the game concept in which we had to come up with an idea which the possible investors
would look at and hopefully be intrigued into what the game is about. I based the design off of a few
landmarks, including a building from an old school I attended as well as giving it that abandoned theme
which you normally see in games. By having it set in an abandoned setting it gave me some more creative
ideas that Synergist could use in terms of building and actually developing the game.
Approach to Design
My approach to the design was simple. I first had a meeting with the
client to talk about what the initial design idea was. Which was an
abandoned Lab idea, from this meeting the client and I changed the
idea slightly so that the idea was more focused and had clear ideas of
what was going to be added into the final design.
Then after my initial meeting I figured out what layout I wanted and
then I made sure to have some type of “map” plan that I wanted to
follow. From that I had some idea of where I wanted to go with the
idea and how I would lay everything out so that it looked professional
in a sense and not too cluttered and close together. In terms of the map I produced that in Photoshop so
