Title : snow falling
Author : Jane Gloriana Villanueva
Number of pages : 238 pages.

1. What is the setting?
time : 1900 and 1902
place : Miami, Florida, US

2. Explain the title : (max 30 words)
At one point in the book the main character Josphine kissed someone for the first time and
snow fell on them. That’s an explanation of the title which is Snow Falling.

3a. Mention an aspect of the book which you liked and explain why. (minimum 50
words)
I really liked the moment that Josephine met Martin, this happens in the intro of the novel. At
first it seems like it is just a meeting between two persons, but at the end it came out to be a
very romantic meeting.

I think it is a very good way to start an intro, you really want to know what happens in the rest
of the book.

3b. Mention an aspect of the book which you disliked and explain why. (min 50 words)
I really didn’t like the part where she found out she was pregnant, this is because she
promised her ‘abuela’ that she wouldn’t lose her virginity until she was married. At the
moment she found out she clearly wasn’t married yet. She really disappointed her ‘abuela’
and they got in different fights with a lot of confusion.

4. Which character in the book do you admire or detest ? What qualities do you like or
dislike? Please explain : (max 40 words)
My favourite character is the main character, Josephine. She is very close with her family
and she is a very strong woman.

5. Think of an alternative title for this book and explain this new title. (max 30 words)
new title: Josephine and her abuela
explanation: Josephine's abuela plays a pretty big role in this novel, i think she is an
important character in this novel. She definitely deserves to be in the title of the novel.

6. Give a summary of the novel. Use between 50 and 80 words.
Josephine Galena Valencia is 23 years old and lives with her mom en abuela. She promised
them to stay a virgin until she got married. She works at a hotel and fell in love with the
detective Martin Cadden.

At one time she saw her boss Rake Solvino and she got to know him and they fell in love.
After some time she accidentally got pregnant from Rake. She is in a love triangle which is
hard to come out of.
