Drainage patterns:
The drainage pattern refers to the way that rivers in a river
system/network are arranged.
Most drainage patterns that form are related to the geology and
topography of the land area over which they flow.
Water erodes channels more easily in softer, less resistant rock and
in areas where the gradient is steeper.

Patterns that depend on the geology or topography of the area
where they are found:
1. Radical: A radical drainage pattern develops on a dome where a
stream flows outwards or downwards. Looks like the spokes of a
bicycle wheel.
2. Trellis: Trellis drainage patterns form on inclined strata that are
unequally resistant to erosion or in areas where there are parallel fold
mountains.
