, From my literature research, I have discovered that when ingesting caffeine 30
minutes prior to something such as a memory test, people with caffeine in their
system had a better performance then participants without caffeine in the body. This
shows that performance of the memory was enhanced due to the caffeine they had
in their body.
My analysis from my research has determined that caffeine benefits the brain, and
boosts memory. Research shows that caffeine actually improves your long term
memory, as well as your short term memory. In my research, I discovered that there
is a general improvement in work performance in college students if they are
regular with having caffeine. Studies show that caffeine does in fact increase
physiological arousal.
A practical project was carried out in university students ages 18-21 to determine
the effect on young adult’s memories. Picking university students was beneficial as
they have a high workload and are a suitable age for the investigation. The results
showed that caffeine products such as- energy drinks, energy bars, sports drinks,
tea and coffee all had a boost on the general memory.
This research is important and so is its relevance as I am going to be investigating
the effects of caffeine on the memory. My research will help me to draw up my
hypothesis on my investigation and I can use my research in my results to see if
caffeine has the same effect on multiple people’s memories.
The sources I have researched are relevant and appropriate as I will be carrying
out a project on the exact topic I have been researching, and I will be able to
investigate more into the effects of caffeine on the memory. The research is
appropriate because it explores and investigates the effect of caffeine on student’s
memory’s and as a student myself, I will be investigating the effects on the memory
in student’s.
