1 Behandeling
Ontwikkelingsdysfasie (OD)/een taalontwikkelingsstoornis is…
- Een complexe spectrumstoornis
o Spectrum  Een continuüm van symptomen van zeer ernstig tot licht + problemen
in verschillende taaldomeinen
o Stoornis  hardnekkige problemen met typische stoorniskenmerken
 Grote verschillen in de taalprofielen van kinderen
- Therapieresistent, wat niet wil zeggen dat er geen therapie nodig is
o Vraagt specifieke, intensieve begeleiding en compenserende hulpmiddelen

1.1 Indirecte therapie
 Doel: ouders en andere opvoeders helpen in het communiceren met het kind +
optimaliseren van hun taalaanbod.
o Ouders en omgeving coachen
o Op die manier indirect de spraak- en taalontwikkeling positief beïnvloeden

Aangeboren taalvermogen
- Taalaanleg – bij ene kind groter dan bij andere – grootte is
individueel verschillend
- Alle anatomische en neurologische vermogens van het kind
(sensori-motorisch, cognitief, sociaal-emotioneel) + neurologische
rijpingsprocessen die ons in staat stellen om te leren
- Verschillende delen in de hersenen zijn verantwoordelijk voor de
taalontwikkeling
- Is cruciaal, maar op zich onvoldoende om tot goede
taalontwikkeling te komen -> daarvoor aangepast taalaanbod nodig
Pijl in 1 richting: aangeboren taalvermogen is individueel verschillend en
beïnvloedt de taalontwikkeling

Aangepast taalaanbod
- Komt vanuit de omgeving – ouders, school, andere betrokkenen, externe stimuli
Bv: kind dat opgroeit in NL omgeving zal NL leren – idem met FR – of combinatie van NL en FR
Pijl in 2 richtingen: wederzijdse beïnvloeding bv: gezin waarin veel voorgelezen wordt +
kwaliteitsvolle taal aangeboden wordt  grotere kans op goede taalontwikkeling cf weinig aanbod
- Kind met goede taalontwikkeling zal veel taalaanbod vragen bv vragen (wat, waarom,…)
stellen, betekenissen van woorden vragen, … wat op zijn beurt weer leidt tot sterkere
taalontwikkeling en vice versa met zwakke taalontwikkeling

Thuisbegeleiding (vroegbegeleiding) is een specifieke vorm van indirecte therapie
- Wordt geadviseerd bij heel jonge kinderen <3j
o Deze kinderen zijn vaak nog niet taalrijp
o Kunnen onvoldoende hun aandacht richten
o Hebben meer baat bij therapie in de thuissituatie
