A “summary of interrelated constructs that describe occupational therapy practice” (AOTA, 2014, p. S1). Brings structure and concepts to build a common understanding of the basic beliefs and vision of the profession (OTPF). ● Domain: defines the focus of OT ● Process: defines the delivery of OT Principles That Guide Occupational Therapy Practice (Willard & Spackman, p. 63-66) ● Client-Centered Practice ● At the core of OT is a focus on the client as an active agent seeking to accomplish important day-to-day activities. ● Occupation-Centered Practice ● The emphasis on occupational engagement stems from the profession’s beliefs, substantiated by emerging research, that people’s occupations are central to their identity and that they can reconstruct themselves through their occupations. ● Evidence-Based Practice
