NURS nurs 615Exam 2 Transcript Strathmann
This is the review for exam two. We have a lot of information to cover so let's get started. I will use the questions that are on the study guide that you guys submitted. Some are covered in a lot of detail some are not. If they're not covered on the exam then I will gloss over those and just focus on the important topics that you guys need to know about. There are also some topics that weren't covered in the study guide that are on the exam. This stuff has been in the lectures and in your assignments but may not have been reflected in the study guide questions so we'll go over those topics as well so we'll start with week for number one. 1. What blood values should be monitored with carbamazepine? a. You should check a CBC every three to four months. In the US, the label for carbamazepine contains warnings on the effects of the body's production of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Rarely there are major effects of aplastic anemia and agranulocytosis reported. More commonly there are minor changes such as decrease white blood cell count or platelet counts that generally do not progress to more serious problems. 2. What is the pharmacodynamics of carbamazepine?
