FEEDBACK ON ASSIGNMENT 01 PRESCRIBED MATERIAL REMINDER ABOUT ASSIGNMENT 02 FEEDBACK ON ASSIGNMENT 01 QUESTION 1 (a) The distinction between a precautionary suspension and a punitive suspension: (4) Precautionary suspension Punitive suspension - It can be implemented to allow an employer to investigate the alleged misconduct of an employee, and to decide whether disciplinary action should be taken against the employee. - It can be used as an alternative to a sanction of dismissal in an attempt to correct the behaviour of the employee. Where appropriate, it can be seen as a form of progressive discipline. - During this period a suspended employee receives his or her salary, unless parties agree to or a law or collective agreement authorises unpaid suspension. - This form of suspension is often without pay.
