Time allowed: 45 minutes approximately

This is what you should do for each item.
• After the question number is announced, there will be a pause to allow you to read the instructions
and questions.
• Listen carefully to the recording and read the questions again.
• Listen to the recording again, and then answer the questions.
• When the next question is about to start you will hear a bleep like this (*).
• You may write at any time during the test.
• In Section A, answer the questions in English. In Section B, answer the questions in German.
• You must answer all the questions in the spaces provided. Do not write outside the box around
each page or on blank pages.
• Write neatly and put down all the information you are asked to give.
• Ask any questions now. You must not ask questions or interrupt during the test.*
• You now have five minutes to read through the question paper. You may make notes during this
time. You may open your answer book now.
• The test starts now.
Once the test has started, the invigilator must not pause it
at any time as all pauses, including the five minutes’
reading time, are pre-recorded.
*If candidates ask any questions at this point, the invigilator should pause the recording until the
questions have been answered. The recording should then be restarted.

Questions and answers in English
01 F2 Naturwissenschaften finde ich ganz einfach, aber Fremdsprachen machen
mich kaputt.
02 M1 Der Schuldirektor will mich sehen, weil ich zu meinem Lehrer unhöflich war.
Das finde ich ungerecht.
03 M2 Wenn ich dieses Jahr ein schlechtes Zeugnis bekomme, darf ich nicht in dieser
Schule bleiben. Ich muss also hart arbeiten.
04 M1 Ich will nächstes Jahr auf die Berufsschule gehen, um etwas Praktisches zu
lernen. Ich möchte Mechaniker werden.
05 F1 Ich arbeite nächsten Samstag zum letzten Mal im Café. Ich brauche mehr Zeit,
um bessere Noten in der Schule zu bekommen.
06 M2 Letzte Woche bin ich für meine Großeltern einkaufen gegangen, und heute
mähe ich den Rasen für sie. Nächste Woche werde ich das Mittagessen für sie
kochen.
07 F2 Diese Woche helfe ich im Tierheim, und nächsten Monat werde ich Geld für die
Obdachlosen sammeln. Letzten Monat habe ich in einer Suppenküche
freiwillig gearbeitet und es hat viel Spaß gemacht.
08 F1 Letzten Donnerstag sind zwei Freunde und ich ins Kino gegangen. Wir haben
einen neuen Abenteuerfilm gesehen, den mein Bruder klasse gefunden hat.
Meine Freunde haben gedacht, der Film war eindrucksvoll, aber ich war
anderer Meinung. Die Hauptfigur war furchtbar. Nach dem Film haben wir
einen kleinen Imbiss gekauft.
09 M1 Machen Sie sich Sorgen über die moderne Technologie?
F2 Ja, eigentlich schon. In den sozialen Medien gibt es viele Unbekannte, die mit
mir sprechen wollen. Ich kenne sie nicht, und das ist nicht sehr sicher.
10 M1 Und Sie? Sehen Sie auch Probleme mit der Technologie?
M2 Nein, überhaupt nicht. Auf den sozialen Medien kann man zu jeder Zeit mit
jemandem chatten, also ist man nie einsam.
