SLIDE 1 Opening It is November 24, 2001. Four American men
technique and between the ages of 18 and 22 are on their way to a
location in Texas to buy drugs. A fifth man drives
to the location. Then an event takes place that will
change the life of the driver forever: the driver is
shot dead. Who did it?

This is the story about a man named C.L. Young
who got the death penalty.
SLIDE 2 Thesis Statement The death sentence is legal in 27 states of America.
This case is interesting because this is one of many
cases where an innocent person is given the death
penalty.
SLIDE 3 Briefly introduce My name is […..] and I am a Dutch law student at
yourself the University of Applied Sciences in Leiden. In
& ROADMAP this presentation I will discuss why there is injustice
(Outline in this case. I will do this by presenting the case to
presentation) you and explaining the process. I’m going to divide
this talk into three parts. Firstly who is Clinton
Young, then what he is accused of and the trial,
lastly I want to talk about the documentary and the
foundation.
SLIDE 4 First subtopic I’d like to begin by introducing you to Clinton Lee
Young. He was sentenced to death at nineteen years
old. Clinton Young was suspected of two murders
committed in Texas in 2001. Clinton was eighteen
years old when these murders were committed.
SLIDE 5 Clinton was abused in his youth by his father and
stepfather. He was always looking for confirmation
from a male figure, which is probably why he
joined a group of friends with guys older than
himself. The group of friends consisted of four men.
SLIDE 6 Second subtopic Moving onto my second point. What was Clinton
accused of. Clinton was convicted of two murders.
One of these two murders was committed in the car
while they were waiting for drugs. The person who
was killed was shot in the head.
SLIDE 7 The second murder was committed the day after the
first murder. The victim was shot at an oil field.

There is no forensic evidence against Clinton. Just
the statements of the other men. These statements
contradict each other.
SLIDE 8 Clinton adhered to the gang code of honor, you
don’t talk to the police. The other three men
