- Line of garment must be smooth, not tight, loose or baggy

Body types:
Ideal shape
Women: hourglass= hips and bust are same size, well-defined waist
- Avoid horizontal lines, add too much width to upper or lower body
- Avoid emphasising either top or bottom part of body
- Choose: one piece outfits or tuck in tops
Men: trapezoid= broad chest and shoulders, a medium to narrow waist and hips.
Upper torso bigger than lower torso. Well proportioned

1. Triangle:
- Women: bust line narrower than hip line, small waist, full thighs
- Horizontal lines above waist to create width
- Dark colours and rough textures below waist to detract from lower
body

- Men: chest is narrower than hips, lower body is heavier than upper body.
Sloping shoulder line
- Detract from bottom heavy frame, dark bottoms to appear slimmer
- Wear well-fitting clothes, tight clothing will exaggerate the size

- Women : straight up and down shape, average to large waist. Small to
medium bust
- Broaden shoulders and hips to create waistline= horizontal lines in
pattern,styles and accessories
