NR 503 Week 8 TD REFLECTION: Reflect back over the past eight weeks and describe how the achievement of the course outcomes in this course have prepared you to meet the MSN program outcome #1 and the MSN Essential I. The Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing are outcomes that are expected/required from master’s prepared nurses, regardless of their educational path (AACN, 2011). There are 9 essentials that are incorporated into the core curriculum of master’s nursing programs. These essentials mirror “the profession’s continuing call for imagination, transformative thinking, and evolutionary change in graduate education” (AACN, 2011, p.3). The first essential of the nine is “Background for Practice from Sciences and Humanities” (AACN, 2011, p. 4). Essential number one regards the merging of nursing science with humanities such as genetics, biopsychosocial field, quality improvement, organizational sciences, and public health in order to improve nursing care over all spectrums (AACN, 2011).
