Potgieter # INTRODUCTION For organizations to be successful, they must have competent communicators. They seek people who can follow and give instructions, accurately listen, provide useful feedback, get along with co-workers and customers, network, provide teamwork with accurate information and creatively solve problems and present ideas understandably. Employees must be skilled in public presentation, listening as well as interpersonal communication to flourish in an organization. Organizational communication can be defined as the sending and receiving of messages between interrelated individuals within a particular environment to achieve individual and common goals. These messages are transmitted through face-toface, written and organised channels so that they can be interpreted and the information processed with clarity. QUESTION 1: 1.1. The process of organising requires the gathering of people to accomplish some purpose, according to Neher (1997:19). He states that the primary requirement of organising is essentially communicating and that bringing people together to achieve individual or organisational goals facilitates communication.
