Data modelling - Assignment 1

Introduction to the assignment:

I have been hired by Sci Tech UK as a Junior Data Analyst. I am going to design a
Data Model for the NHS to calculate the number of people in the country who have
had the Vaccine. The spread of COVID-19 has affected many different sectors and
the control is paramount to improve the UK economy.I will first explain the stages in
the decision making process along with others such as spreadsheet features,
considering alternatives, evaluating models and being able to provide documentation
and justifications of the models.I will make sure that the data model is being broken
down into different categories like genders, boroughs and age groups as this will
help me to organise who have taken the vaccine and who hasn’t.

Task 1 - Investigating a data model and I will need to make the design and develop it
for the decision making process

Stages in the decision-making process:

Understanding the scenario:

For the scenario that is given they asked me to design, develop and
investigate. The government has developed a vaccine that will help to stop
dramatically the spread of COVID-19. The vaccination process started in
December 2020 and all adults are eligible for a vaccine. However the first
people that were vaccinated were frontline healthcare workers, doctors and
frontline social workers. The NHS and the government have planned that the
whole country will be vaccinated by June 2021.
32,574,221 - Is the number of people that have been vaccinated with the first
dose of vaccine and for the second dose over 8,931,547 of people have been
vaccinated.
I will design my data with a weekly breakdown with trusted information.
This will benefit directly the NHS and the government by offering a function to
record and identify the number of people who took the vaccine. The data will
be updated weekly regularly.

, Identifying information and sources :
For the data model we need information about the number of people that have
been vaccinated.
This is important because this will help me to know how many people have got
the first dose and the second dose as this will help to stop the spread of
COVID-19. I also will need the local data from the boroughs as this will
provide sufficient information for my data model to use it for helping to stop the
spread of the virus. We already know that the vaccine have become available
from december 2020. The information I got it’s from the government website :
https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/vaccinations.
We can use information about vaccination programs from other countries as
well as they can be trusted and they are already tested and work efficiently.
New Zealand has a number of very low covid cases and a low death rate.
They have ordered over 15 million vaccines however their population is only of
5 million people but they will transfer the remaining vaccines to the other
countries of the pacific

to-arrive-one-month-early-border-staff-to-be-inoculated-next-week)
At the moment in New Zealand are over 180,000 thousand people vaccinated.

coronavirus/covid-19-data-and-statistics/covid-19-vaccine-data)
Canada also has planned to receive 1.9 million doses of vaccines.
Japan has been administered 1.93 million vaccines as of April 18.
In May they’re planned to receive 100 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine
between May and June. They have set a goal to vaccinate roughly 10 million
people each week of May.
I have provided information about other countries' vaccination programs. The
data I got , it’s from the government websites so that means the information is
reliable and official and we keep in mind that the data from these websites are
getting refreshed very often.

Factors Affecting Information Quality :

The government websites provide information about COVID-19 and the
vaccination data, however the websites take time to update to the latest data.
For example the data for New Zealand was last updated on 21st April so the
new data is missing for 2 days. The website has the data for all age groups,
how many were vaccinated on that day but the only concern is that the data is
