You also get 8 long and scenario questions (155 marks) with complete model answers and marking guidance. It covers what MNB1501 tests most often: the economic principle and factors of production (and their rewards), economic systems, the micro, market and macro environments, entrepreneurship and small business, franchising, forms of ownership under the Companies Act 71 of 2008 ((Pty) Ltd, Ltd, Inc., SOC Ltd, NPC), the business plan, the four management functions, strategic management and growth strategies, organising, Maslow's hierarchy, control, and social responsibility in South Africa. The questions use South African businesses and scenarios, such as a Durban caterer facing load-shedding and food inflation. 1. How to use this pack
What this pack is: a bank of ORIGINAL exam-style questions written to mirror the style, mark
allocations and topic spread of MNB1501 assessments, with full worked answers. Every question was
written from scratch; none is taken from Unisa exam papers.
Typical MNB1501 format (check your current tutorial letter / myUnisa): MNB1501 is a large first-
year online module. Assessments have typically relied heavily on four-option multiple-choice
questions (many of them short scenarios), with some written or business-plan-type tasks. Confirm
the current year's format on myUnisa: if your final assessment is MCQ-only, focus on Section A and
use Section B to deepen understanding.
How to use it: (1) Do Section A under timed conditions. (2) Mark yourself with the memorandum
and learn from every mistake. (3) Use Section B to practise explaining concepts and applying them to
scenarios. (4) Revise from the appendix.
Prescribed textbook referred to for topic coverage: Erasmus, B., Rudansky-Kloppers, S. & Strydom,
J. (eds) Introduction to Business Management (Oxford University Press Southern Africa): recent
Unisa offerings have used the 12th edition. Use the edition your tutorial letter prescribes.
