The influence of technology, cell phones and social media on
your life.

(Kyk na jou papier en sê niks. Tel tot 20. Kyk op en praat dan.)

O ag, ekskuus man, I mean, huhum. (Maak keelskoon).

Sorry, excuse me, I was just checking my email, SMSs, updating my
Facebook status, tweeting some twat, something, something on my cell
phone.

How many times have you seen that distant look of someone whose mind
was not with you anymore? How many excuses? How many? Get used to
it. It's technology, and it's combined with social media. How does this affect
your life? Well, besides being so far off in the distance, talking to someone
on a cell phone, not using voice but a keyboard, and typing and getting run
over by a car, because you weren't looking, technology has some
advantages.

One major advantage according to www.ukessays.com, it is the critical role
technology plays in stimulating growth in economies, markets and market
information is more readily available in faroff places, buyers and sellers can
react quicker on big decisions. Thereby trading shares at a quicker pace.
News events are almost immediately broadcasted all over the world. As
can be seen with the recent earthquakes in Nepal. According to
news24.com, emergency rescue teams were within hours of the quake
happening already getting organized to go assist in Nepal.

The problem is though that we've become so dependent on technology and
social media that we cannot function without it. It can lead to things like
internet addiction. Buzzle.com talks about negative things that have an
impact on our lives. We don't have to walk or move around anymore. Travel
is a touch of a button away. We don't need to have knowledge anymore.
Google has all the answers.
