### Globalization Reflection
Globalization affects my life in many ways, especially in the things I buy and use. I
do not always think about where the products I use come from. Many of them are
connected to different countries through international trade. Three of my personal
consumption habits that are impacted by globalization are buying clothes eating
food from countries and using technology.
One of my consumption habits affected by globalization is buying clothes. When I go
shopping, I have access to different brands, styles and trends. A lot of the clothes I
buy are not made in Canada. They may be designed in one country manufactured in
another country and then shipped to Canada to be sold. Globalization allows me to
have access to a larger variety of clothing than if I could only buy clothes produced
in Canada. I also notice that social media exposes me to clothing trends from
countries, which can influence what I want to buy.
Another habit that is affected by globalization is the food I eat. I eat a variety of
foods including food that connects me to my culture. Many of the ingredients used
in foods I eat may come from countries before reaching grocery stores in Canada.
Globalization makes it possible for Canadian stores to sell foods and ingredients
from around the world. I think this is especially important because it allows me to
enjoy foods connected to my culture while living in Canada. It also gives me the
opportunity to try foods from cultures that're different from my own.
My third consumption habit is using technology. I use my phone and computer for
school, communication, entertainment and many other things. The technology I use
is connected to globalization because electronic products often involve materials,
parts, manufacturing and workers from different countries. The apps and websites I
use also connect me to people, information and entertainment from around the
world. Because of globalization I can easily communicate with people and access
content from countries that're thousands of kilometres away.
