I actually thought 798 has been the easiest for me, so far. I flew through it in about 3 days. Once I got the hang of the
Gantt chart, it was easy.
Get motivated it's not hard once you start.
just start I finished mine in one night. I pretty much panicked and wrote out a massive paper for my slide notes in 24
hours.

Gantt Chart
Once I can get this Gantt Chart on paper the rest seems pretty straightforward.

my best hint - put in ALL of your steps first and THEN go back through and indent under the main heading. I made like 5
sheets before I figured that out. It's hard to edit them if they're indented right away or as you add them.

I just made 5 subtasks for each of the sdlc steps. Then made up some dates and picked some key stakeholders.

The planning phase is upper-level overall. Provides direction to entire project. What do we want to do? Why are we
going to do this? Who's going to do it?

The analysis phase is detailed and granular. Prioritizing the requirements, generating & evaluating the alternatives.
What do we need to consider to be successful? Do we have any gaps? Have we considered expense?

The design phase is where we design the system. Determines the architecture and operation of the system. Is it
working? Do we need to make any modifications?

The implementation phase is where the vision becomes reality. The system is customized, tested, and installed. Does it
work? Do people know how to use it?

The evaluation phase is where we critically judge. Dynamic process with changing roles of staff & interpersonal
relationships, and ever evolving technology, environment, and organizational needs have to be constantly
accommodated into system design. What can be better? What needs to change? Does it meet the needs of the
organization?

Subtasks
I just passed this class and did 5 subtasks for each phase and made one of my 5 subtasks the milestone!

COS has several examples for each of the different phases – also there is an article explaining SDLC phases which helps
with articulating sub tasks —“Using SDLC Methodology to Implement HIT”

include subtasks that discuss the organization's clinical research initiatives, regulation compliance, and ergonomics and
environmental health, as these will be addressed again later in your PowerPoint.

For planning I have things like SWOT analysis, selecting the telehealth program, establishing a budget, and gathering
regulatory requirements.
For Analysis is determining user requirements, reviewing policies, etc.

How specific do the subtasks need to be?
not very specific. I did things like “order hardware,” “set command center schedule,” “monitor help desk tickets,” etc

Just be sure whatever subtasks you choose you can justify why EACH ONE is necessary to include in your Gantt chart. I
just had to revise because I didn’t offer enough justifications.
