. 25 mL pipette
Distilled Water
. Funnel (for filling burettes)
pHprobe, freshly calibrated
Procedure
For your first rough' titre
1. Fillthe burette with acidsolution using a funnel and note the initial volume.
2. First rinse then use a 25mL pipette to add 25 cm³ of base to the conical flask
4. Insert the pH meter and record the starting pH
5. Add 1cm² of titrant, swirling after the addition.
6. Once pH has stabilised record the pH to 2 decimal places.
7. Repeat steps5 and 6 until a consistent acidic pH has been obtained.
For your accurate repeats
Repeat the process described above but when within 2cm² of the sudden drop
in pH, slowto 0.1cm³ additions. Return to 1cm² additions after the fullyacidic
pH has been reached.
