History is derived from the Greek word ‘historia’ which means inquiry or investigation into the past.
History is about the pas how people lived and what they ate and what did they do. It is an arranged
and systematic order of how things or events happened in the past. Thus is history is the systematic

Why do we study history?
We study history to get to know about the past. It helps us know how different people lived in the
past, their beliefs, their customs, and what they did. We also get to know how different scripts
evolved and what languages did they speak. We also get to know about people or rulers that have
contributed to our cultures. Thus, it tells us about how us humans evolved.

It is a western calendar which was introduced by Pope Gregory in1582. In this Calendar one calendar
