Golden Globes – My View
The Golden Globes award recognition for excellent work in both films and television; one film
that I believe should have been honoured at the 2026 Golden Globes is "Hamnet", which took
home the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama. The film competed against "Frankenstein", "It
Was Just an Accident", "Sentimental Value", "Sinners" and "The Secret Agent".
Golden Globes +1
I believe that Hamnet was a worthy winner since it was awarded in a highly competitive
category; the other films shortlisted also had notable qualities. For instance, Sinners were given
the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, and The Secret Agent took home the
prize for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language. This indicates that the other nominees
were likewise well appreciated at the ceremony.

What is special about Hamnet is that it has won in the drama category and at the same time
Jessie Buckley, who played the leading role in the film, has been awarded Best Female Actor in
a Motion Picture – Drama for her performance. The film's overall achievement is therefore all
the more impressive.
Golden Globes
To me, awards such as the Golden Globes are valuable since they offer audiences the chance
to come across a variety of films; even if all the nominees have features that are worth praising,
I think that Hamnet was a good choice for the drama award.
