A system of Therapy based on the assumption that the client is in the best
position to resolve his/her own problems provided that the therapist can
establish a warm, permissive atmosphere in which the the client feels free
to discuss his/her problems and to obtain insight into them. The therapist
assumes a non-directive role, and does not advise, interpret, or intervenes
except to offer encouragement and occasional restatements of the clients
remarks for the purpose of emphasis and clarification.
