Sugar Act(1764)- Rasied Revue for the British by enforcing the Navigation acts and cracking
down on smuggling.
Quartering Act(1764)- Colonists are forced to providing food and housing to British soldiers
Stamp Act(1765)- Stamp placed on all legal documents & paper items.
Britidh crown did not receive permission from colonies to enact these new policies
Colonial response
Virginia resolves by Patrick Henry in House of Burgesses
Stamp Act Congress- representatives from 9 colonies met to oppose British policies and
move toward colonial unity
Son’s of Liberty- secret organization that uses violence to disrupt enforcement acts.
