Abstract
The concept of privatizing government services is one method used with the critical purposes of increasing
the quality, efficiency, and save money or reduce government expenditure. Therefore, given this fact, most
scholars and studies have delved into the potential adverse effects of privatization, which include loss of
accountability and transparency. Also, most researchers focus on the critical requirement for transparency
and accountability towards fighting maladministration. This paper applies this concept to the context of
privatized prisons, which offer an exploration as well as theoretical approach that shows how private
prisons are becoming more susceptible to maladministration compared to public prisons. The paper assess
the effects of private correctional centers and prisons and how individual owners of such corporations
focus on financial benefits, rather than the freedom and liberty of the inmates.
