How did the simulated experience of Edith Jacobson’s case make you feel?
Talk about what went well in the scenario.
The VSim of Edith Jacobson made me feel more confident in what I was doing as a nurse. What
went well was how smooth the transition of each assessment was, and everything was organized and it
was easy to find what I needed.
Reflecting on Edith Jacobson’s case, were there actions that you would do differently if you were to
repeat this scenario? If so, how would your patient care change?
With Edith Jacobson’s case, I was more focused on specific problems such as fall risk or
musculoskeletal/checking her legs. However, this made me forget to assess her lungs and neuro status.
What feelings were you experiencing during your interaction with Edith Jacobson?
Interacting with Edith Jacobson felt almost real. It made me feel a little taken back because her
responses were so realistic. By the end, it made me feel good that I was able to take care of her like I
would do with a real patient.

-For teamwork, I called a second nurse in to help me reposition Edith Jacobson on her side to
prevent skin breakdown.
T&C List some ways that teamwork and collaboration can be improved. Discuss how you would
implement your suggestions.
-At first, I didn’t call the second nurse to come help me reposition the patient. Because it was an
online simulation, it didn’t occur to me that I should 100% treat them as I would with a real
patient. Then I realized I had to call someone to help me reposition the patient.
