The Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Health Michigan Plan (HMP) are federal and state-level
(Michigan) health policies in the United States that significantly affect healthcare delivery and

Federal
The ACA provides a comprehensive law on health reform, which President Barrack Obama
signed on March 23, 2010. ACA's main goal was to improve the provision of patient care and
healthcare delivery in several ways, including reducing healthcare costs, expanding the
workforce, and emphasizing wellness and preventative approaches. The police also aimed at
improving healthcare quality, expanding people's access to insurance coverage, and augmenting

resulted in the Health Michigan Plan (HMP) enactment. The HMP was birthed through the
