I chose Advent Health Dade City located in Dade City, Florida.
2. Explain why you chose the hospital in part A1 and what significance it has to you,
including a specific example.
I selected this hospital because it is the closest hospital to where I live. I receive all my
healthcare from this facility and its sister facility. I am also an employee of the
organization.
3. Using the Care Compare website, identify the “type of facility” of the hospital you chose in
part A1.
This facility is classified as an Acute Care Hospital.
a. List the medical services provided at the facility.
The services provided at this facility as are as follows: Bariatric and Weight care,
Children’s emergency care, Diabetes care, Digestive care, Ear, Nose and Throat care,
Emergency care, Endocrinology care, Heart and Vascular care, Home Health, Imaging
services, Lab Services, Men’s Health care, Orthopedic care, Pain care, Podiatry care,
Pulmonary care, Senior care, Sports medicine and Rehab care, Surgical care, Urology
care, Women’s Health care, and Wound care.
4. Summarize the three main types of control/ownership for healthcare
structures:
• For-profit hospitals operate as business entities owned by
individuals, partnerships, or corporations. Their primary financial goal
is to generate profit, which is distributed to owners or shareholders.
These facilities often focus on efficiency and service lines that generate
higher revenue.
• Non-profit hospitals, such as AdventHealth Dade City, reinvest any
surplus revenue back into the organization to enhance patient
