, Treaty of Tordesillas Answer: A line dividing the land in the New World between Spain and
Portugal.
ecomiendas Answer: A system of large manors and estates run by the Spaniards, managed by

overwork and diseases, the Spanish began importing African slaves for labor needs.

were to be used for the provisioning of British soldiers.
